Skardu: public have broken their Patience’s and came out on roads to protest against electricity loadshedding. Skardu is facing heavy loadshedding up to 16 hours a day and government authorities are not taking any serious action to cater the power shortage issue.
The electric supply department WAPDA having power capacity of 8 mega Watts for Skardu city. As of now, they can produce 50% of the total capacity due to lake of system maintenance.
During summer days, the loadshedding would reduce a bit as compare to winter. Hydel power plant power generation usually increases by increase river water in summer days. But the challenge of power shortage in winter is there but nobody is focusing on it at all.
