Pakistan mountaineers are out there in Nepal on a mission to summit many 8ers this year. Till date, following 8ers have been scaled by Pakistan mountaineers;
Sajid Ali Sadpara
Many climbing records have been broken during spring mountaineering season in Nepal;
- Sajid Sadpara became the first Pakistani ever to scale Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen and Sherpa support.
- Sajid Sadpara became the first Pakistani ever to scale Mount Annapurna without supplementary oxygen and Sherpa support.
- Naila Kiani became the first Pakistani women to summit Mt. Everest and Lhotse within a span of 48 hours. Nadia was also along with Naila Kiani during this double header successful attempt.
- Shehroze Kashif became the youngest ever mountaineer to summited twelve 8ers mountains in the world.
These mountaineers are the true heroes of Pakistan. What they have said after these historical summits are phenomenal, they always put the nation first.
Sajid Sadpara tweeted regarding the female climbers of Pakistan for their Annapurna summit, “So proud of these strong women Naila Kiyani & Nadi, who climbed Mt Annapurna 8091m, side by side us and raised Pakistani flag on the top. Great to see young females entering Adventure Sports and all other walks of life. Together for progressive Pakistan.”
Shehroze regarded Sajid on his historical Everest summit, “Congratulations to my brother Sajid Sadpara on accomplishing a remarkable feat. He is the first Pakistani to summit Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen. I am sure your father must be proud and smiling from the heaven.”
Some notable Pakistan mountaineers, who’s legacy is taken up by these young bloods are;
Nazir Sabir is a renowned Pakistani mountaineer who became the first Pakistani to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 2000. He has also climbed several other challenging peaks, including K2, Gasherbrum II, and Broad Peak.
Ashraf Aman is the second Pakistani mountaineer to successfully summit Mount Everest. He accomplished this feat in 2001. Ashraf Aman has also climbed K2, Gasherbrum II, and Nanga Parbat.
Samina Baig is the first Pakistani woman to climb Mount Everest. She achieved this milestone in 2013 at the age of 22. In addition to Everest, Samina Baig has climbed several other peaks, including the Seven Summits.
Nisar Hussain Sadpara was a skilled Pakistani mountaineer known for his remarkable achievements. He climbed K2 in 2019, becoming the first Pakistani to summit the peak in winter. Unfortunately, Nisar Hussain Sadpara went missing during a winter summit attempt on K2 in 2021 and is presumed to have lost his life.
Hassan Sadpara was another prominent Pakistani mountaineer who climbed several of the world’s highest peaks. He successfully summited Everest, K2, and Gasherbrum I, among others. He passed away in 2016 due to cancer.
