Chilim Chowki to Skardu distance is 82km. The traveling time is around 7 to 8 hours.
You have to drive offroad all the way. The maximum driving speed is up to 25km/h to 30km/h on the bike and below 25km/h on four-wheelers on Deosai soil.
After covering 18km, you will reach Sheosar lake. Sheosar lake is located at the very start of the premises of Deosai national park from the Chilim side.
Kala pani comes after Sheosar lake. There is a campsite at Kala pani as well. But the crowd at Kala pani is comparatively less. Kala pani camp side is 4000 km above sea level. There is a tent city, tea stall, and meals available at this location.
Barra pani is the most crowded place on Deosai. Most tourists open up their tents for a night’s stay. There is a tent hotel and all basic facilities available such as meals, tea stalls, camping and many more. The temperature falls below freezing point at Barra pani just after the sunset.
The weather at Deosai changes within a few minutes. It takes less than 10 minutes to rain from a clear sky. You have to be prepared for any rapid change in weather.
