Deosai Plains Skardu is the main habitat for brown bear elusive omnivores. The brown bear can also be found in Rama valley of Astore, Biafo Glacier, Khunjerab and Chitral high plains, but in limited number.
The population has reportedly increased in the past 3 decades now approximately over 80+ in Deosai Skardu. This specie is one of the endanger animal of Himalayas and under the radar of conservation department.
In past few years, many photographers coincides to capture it under their lens.
